Help plan a festival
Wyndham Council is looking for help to plan local events for a seniors festival recognising contributions made by older Victorians. The council is inviting the community to submit ideas for events to be held in Wyndham from October 6-13. Preference will be given to applications which aim to reduce social isolation and are open to everybody. Community groups, individuals, businesses, sporting clubs and schools are being encouraged to apply for funding for their ideas. Submissions must be received by May 31. Family day for carers
Wyndham residents with a mental illness and their families are being invited to take part in a family day at Werribee Park next month. Mind Australia, which provides community health services, will host the day to provide families with a chance to relax. The day will include a scavenger hunt, free massages and information about family and care services. It’s on Thursday, February 14 from noon. More details: 8102 7900.
