A full-time studio with classes running six days and nights each week, First Steps dance studio has now clocked up 16 years and is still going strong.
Two beautiful, airconditioned studios with barres and mirrors accommodate two schools: junior school’s First Steps music and movement classes for students aged 18 months to four years; and senior school’s Stepnout Performing Arts classes for four-year-olds to adults.
Principal Liz Loft believes in having a great time and building self-confidence in all students.
“If we can do this and they are enjoying themselves, they learn at a greater pace and want to learn more and achieve greater things,” she says.
A team of 12 teachers, fully qualified in their own traditions, provide students with a wide variety of classes.
Stepnout Performing Arts offers traditional ballet, the latest in funk and hip-hop, cheerleading, acrobatics, social ballroom, singing and drama, musical theatre, senior tap and jazz ballet. Adult classes in fun and fitness, funk, tap, jazz and private singing tuition are available. First Steps has classes for under-fours in preschool coordination, Little Fairies and junior theatrical (a combination of tap, jazz and ballet).
An enrolment and open day will be held between 10am and 2pm this Saturday.
