The CFA unit attends about 70 callouts a year, ranging from winter house fires to car accidents. Mr Sanderson said road crashes were the worst to attend.
“There was one particular accident on the highway where a mother and her two kids were killed.
“Terry played a big part in getting the road duplicated after we had three fatalities in three years.”
