Meet Wyndham’s very own golf prodigy.

Taegen Dodds, 7, will travel to Las Vegas in July to compete in the World Stars of Junior Golf championships after finishing third in the Australian age group titles earlier this month.

The Point Cook resident has also been invited to represent Australia at the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games championships in California.

Taegen first started playing golf when he was three and quickly discovered a natural talent and passion for the sport.

Taegen Dodds is a 7yo Point Cook resident and has been selected to represent Australia at some upcoming international golf events.

He was competing by the time he was five and is the youngest-ever member at Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club.

“[My favourite thing about golf is] if you hit a bad shot, there’s another shot to come,” he said.

Taegen practises three times a week under the guidance of coaches Dave McKendrick and Chris Andrews, first hitting 150 balls at the driving range then working on his putting.

He also does fitness sessions to improve his core strength.
