Werribee led for the majority of their game against Carlton but weren’t able to hold off a last quarter charge from the visitors, who ended up taking home a 19-point victory at Avalon Airport Oval in the Victorian Football League.
Carlton found a one-point lead once in the second quarter for a short period as Werribee took charge for most of the first three quarters without putting the game to bed.
This gave Carlton a chance to take home the points in which they did, kicking the last five goals of the game in a strong finish.
Gribble was impressive for Werribee leading the possessions on the ground with 40 and Mannagh and Henderson kicked two each up forward.
The loss has Werribee with a 2-2 win-loss record heading into their round six match against Gold Coast next week at Metricon Stadium.
