Western Athletics stars Amy Cashin and Jack Rayner walk away from the Commonwealth Games with top 10 finishes.
Both competing at their first games, the two showed some positive signs going forward.
Cashin finished fifth in the 3000 metre steeplechase in a time of 9:35.63. She finished 20 seconds behind the winner Jackline Chepkoech
Cashin has had a massive season, continuing to improve her personal best on multiple occasions.
The most recent occasion was at the world championships, where she missed out on the final by two spots after running in a fast heat. Her personal best is now 9:21.46.
Rayner, who is still new to the 5000 metres event, finished in eighth place in a time of 13:24.90.
The time was well off his personal best of 13.06 which would have been enough to get him the gold medal, with the pace off in the Commonwealth Games final.
He finished about 16 seconds behind the winner Uganda Jacob Kiplimo, who won both the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres.
Rayner recently finished 19th at the World Championships in the 10,000 metres.
He has recently focused on running on the track, after injuries riddled his marathon running.
