Titans lock in Sheean

Tarneit has locked in coach Brent Sheean for a second Western Region Football League season confident about the direction of the side.

While the Titans sit in fifth spot and haven’t necessarily had the wins they were after, the club has backed in Sheean announcing his reappointment this week.

President Terrance Bradley said they were excited by what the future holds.

“It’s really exciting news and we wanted to reward him for the job done so far,” he said.

“We haven’t had the results on the park we had hoped for, but Brent has brought the group together in line with the same values the club holds as well.

“It’s a natural fit and we’re moving in the right direction.”

Bradley said they were keen to get Sheean locked in as soon as possible to give certainty to the playing group.

He said they were also hoping it might attract people to the club, with them knowing the direction they were headed.

While Sheean is locked in for next season, the Titans are still focused on the task at hand.

“Hopefully we get a couple more wins on the board and sneak into the fourth spot,” Bradley said. “That’s still the vision of Brent and the club.

“We’ve got a good test against Braybrook this week and if we can get over the top of them it’ll give us a good vision of where we are.

“If we can get over Braybrook this week and then Laverton the week after it might give us an outside chance.”

Bradley said things were also going well on the junior side of things. He said their combined under-16 team with Werribee Centrals were a chance of taking out the premiership after exceeding all expectations.
