Werribee had a solid win against Clifton Hill (2) in the Cricket Victoria Women’s Community Cricket Competition shield (3) competition.

Clifton Hill made 7-137 from its overs, with April Chaudhary taking two wickets for the Tigers.

Werribee got the winning runs with eight overs to spare, finishing 2-140.

The Tigers, who are in their first season in this competition, sit in fourth spot after seven rounds.

The Tigers face Coburg (2) on Sunday in the second last round.

In the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association women’s competition Geoff Law Shield, Sanctuary Lakes got the points after Westmeadows forfeited.

The win takes the Sharks ahead of the Warriors on the ladder into fifth spot.

In the women’s division 3 competition, Point Cook fell short against the Preston Druids in a high scoring affair.

The Druids made 0-200 off their 20 overs.

Point Cook took the game deep, but fell short, finishing 6-177.

The result and the Fleming Gulls-West Newport win, resulted in Point Cook slipping from first to third. The top three teams are all on 42 points.

In division 4, Bellbridge came away with the win against Point Cook 2.

Point Cook made 2-152 from its overs with Kshama Dave top scoring with 20.

Melissa Dumesny took both wickets for the Bears.

Karla Templeton was the star of the show in the Bears innings.

She made 95 not out at the top of the order as her side finished 2-210.

Templeton’s innings came off 44 balls and included 21 fours.

Bellbridge sits atop the table, percentage ahead of Sanctuary Lakes 2

The Sharks beat Flemington Colts in their match. The Colts made 6-135 with the Sharks sneaking over the line, finishing 3-140.

There is one more regular season match for all the NWMCA women’s competitions, with the top four teams in each division to play finals.
