For almost 60 years, the De Pasquale family has farmed in Werribee South.

But 20-year-old Anton has broken with tradition by forging a successful career in professional car racing.

De Pasquale recently returned to his hometown after two years competing in Europe and now has his sights set on a career racing in V8 Supercars.

“I’ve always been a very competitive person,” he said.

“And I’ve always loved sport in general. Racing is a very unique sport. I’ve always loved driving fast and this sport gives me the opportunity to drive fast on a track.”

His passion for racing can be traced to a childhood of moving cars and motorbikes around on the farm.

He later found himself involved in go-karting, progressing to a love of racing cars.

“As soon as I finished high school, I packed my bags and left for Europe,” he said.

“I took that chance – I was chasing something I really wanted.”

The risks paid off, with De Pasquale winning the open-wheel Formula Renault 1.6 title in Europe in 2014. He was then bumped up to the 2.0 series, but because of a funding shortfall he chose not to move to the higher classification and returned to Werribee South.

De Pasquale will race in a Falcon for the Paul Morris team in the V8 Supercars Dunlop development series.

Looking to the future, he has just one goal in mind – to continue going very fast and building up a successful career on Australian tracks.
