Werribee Football Club last week announced three new signings ahead of the upcoming season.
Ruckman Sam Conway will make the move from Williamstown to Werribee.
Another ruck player, Greater Western Sydney Academy product Jack Driscoll, has signed with the club too.
Former Casey Demon Tom McCaffrey will also join Werribee.
Werribee football manager Mark Micallef said he was excited to see what the trio could produce on the field.
“Sam’s a big ruckman who’s got really good strength in the contest and plays the game with a very good temperament,” he said.
Micallef said that McCaffrey “has got pace and his endurance is in the top echelon in the VFL”.
He said that Driscoll, who measures 200 centimetres in height, was an exciting prospect with good athleticism and skills.
Driscoll, 19, McCaffrey, 25 and Conway, 22, all said they were delighted to be become part of the team at Chirnside Park.
Conway, who stands 203 centimetres tall, said one reason behind his move to Werribee was the fact that he has existing friendships with several of his now-teammates.
“I’m excited to be on board with a good chance to lock down the ruck spot with Matthew Lobbe retiring,” he said.
McCaffrey said that when Micallef and Werribee head coach Mick Barlow contacted him, he did not have to think twice.
He said many of his new teammates have sent messages welcoming him to Werribee.
“I think we’re all striving for that glory of winning a premiership so I’m happy to be a part of that,” McCaffrey said.
Driscoll, who hails from rural New South Wales, played with the Giants Under-19 side last year.
“I know Werribee’s been a pretty successful club in the past and has also had quite a few people drafted in recent years, so I’m keen to improve my game and play the highest standard I can,” he said.
