Point Cook finished the first day of its clash with East Keilor in a strong position, with the Victorian Turf Cricket Association B1 side batting through the day.
After winning the toss and batting on their home deck, the Warriors built partnerships as the middle order flourished and the tail wagged to get them to 8-246 at stumps.
Wicketkeeper Harpreet Singh got the day off to a strong start with 38 against the new ball, and while Brett Talbot (11) and James Peterson (7) fell cheaply, the platform was laid for the middle order to set the game up.
Scott Maloney became the aggressor of the innings, with seven boundaries in his 42, and when Jack Bolam joined him at the crease the runs flowed steadily for the hosts.
The pair put on 60 together before Maloney departed, but Bolam continued on to post 63, his highest score in his first season at the club.
David Hicks (29), Upinder Kumar (12), Aaron Whear (10 not out) and Alok Sharma (16 not out) all played their part late in the day to keep the scoreboard ticking over and ensuring the Warriors finished in a strong position.
Both sides are looking to grab their second win of the season.
Elsewhere, Seabrook will need a further 153 runs to take the win in its West A1 clash with Melton Centrals, after a day of toil in the field at its home ground.
Centrals looked in control at 2-100, but a collapse late in the day opened the door for Seabrook to get back in the game and restrict the visitors to just 161.
Seabrook had eight overs to try and negotiate late in the day, and lost one wicket before closing on 1-9.
In North West A1, Werribee Centrals will be looking for quick wickets this weekend after it struggled to contain Footscray United late in the day. Centrals were sent in by the home side, and while they scored at a good rate they lost steady wickets before being dismissed in the 56th over for 169.
United then had 24 overs late in the day, and made the most of them as it powered to 3-87 by stumps.
With only 83 more needed for the win, Centrals will be hoping for a better display with the ball this weekend.
