Imports delight Werribee Devils

Werribee Devils have locked in two 201-centimetre forces for their Big V basketball men’s championship import positions.

The Devils love the versatility offered by Americans Bryan Nagy and Konor Kulas, who will bring unique skill sets to their new team.

Nagy came on the radar for his play with Carroll University in NCAA division three. A crafty passer through traffic and a determined defender, Nagy has the ability to have an impact on both ends of the floor.

Devils men’s coach Warren Estcourt is delighted to have him on board.

“His mobility gives us multiple looks defensively,” he said. “Offensively, he has the ability to score inside and outside.

“He is known as a great team man and I am sure he will fit in to our system seamlessly.”

Kulas, a college graduate of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, has played professionally in Germany for BBC Montabaur. He is outstanding as a back-to-the-basket player with ability to turn defenders inside out and is able to stretch the floor with his three point shooting.

“His versatility is going to give people match-up problems,” Estcourt said.

“Our roster is now finalised and the squad is training well together.”

Werribee will open its season with a home game against Blackburn Vikings at Eagle Stadium on March 18.
