Werribee star Tim Gribble won his second Bruce Montgomery Trophy on Thursday, his second major award in as many weeks.
After claiming the Victorian Football League’s Liston Medal as the league’s best player, he backed it up with the club’s best and fairest award.
Gribble finished on 179 votes, seven votes ahead of runner-up Kye Declase, who finished on 172 votes.
Shaun Mannagh secured third spot with 147 votes, followed by 146 for Louis Pinnuck. Nick Coughlan, who missed the first six games of the season, finished fifth on 145, also went on to win defensive player of the year.
Votes are awarded by Werribee’s senior coach Michael Barlow and assistant coaches Nick Daffy, James Saker and Tom Perrett.
During every game in the Victorian Football League each coach awards votes between zero to five votes to every player.
Gribble won his first trophy in 2019, also winning the Liston Medal that year too.
Matt Hanson was announced as trademark player of the year, Charlie Harm won best first year player and the Ray Smith club person of the year was given to George Riddiford.
With 32 goals, Hudson Garoni was named the leading goal kicker.
