Edwards puts on a show

It was the Scott Edwards show in the latest round of the Western Suburbs Churches and Community Cricket Association T20 division 1 competition.

The fourth round of the competition kicked off on Tuesday night, with the highlight of the round and the competition so far coming on Thursday.

Altona Sports hosted Williams Landing on Thursday night and put on a batting display.

Altona Sports made 2-304 from its 20 overs.

Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was the star of the show as he made 229 not out off just 81 balls.

He hit 14 fours and 23 sixes in the first double century in the competition.

Williams Landing never got close to the target, bowled out for 118.

Elsewhere, Glen Orden remains undefeated, while Manor Lakes is on the board.

Glen Orden continued its good form as it accounted for Tarneit Central.

Tarneit Central made 6-169 from its overs with Mandeep Singh top scoring with 47.

It was all single wicket takers for the Thunder.

The Thunder timed the run chase to perfection, hitting the winning runs with five balls remaining

The Thunder finished 5-197.

Captain Sai Chaitanya Chatrati top scored with 88.

Daljit Singh took two wickets for Tarneit.

Manor Lakes was able to get the job done against Truganina United.

Both sides were searching for their first wins of the tournament.

Truganina made 9-124 from its overs.

Vineet Bhimani (21 not out) and Ashutosh Patel (25 not out) put on 46 for the final wicket to give their side some hope.

Goutham Gandhi took three wickets for Manor Lakes.

Manor Lakes was cruising at 1-90 before it lost 3-3 to give Truganina some hope.

Manor Lakes was able to steady and made the runs with nearly six overs remaining, finishing 4-125.

Khazan Singh top scored with 39 at the top of the order.

In division 2, Altona Sports, Truganina Strikers and Western Eagles were the winners.

Brimbank Strikers, Western Lions and the Indigos were the winners in division 3, while Yarraville Club, Altona Sports and Manor Lakes won in division 4.
