Yarraville Seddon got its second win of the Western Region Football League women’s division 1 season, beating Hoppers Crossing on Saturday.

While both sides are out of finals contention, the match was a good opportunity to get a win on the board late in the season.

The Eagles slowly built a lead throughout the match, coming away with a 12.12 (84)-0.2 (2) win.

Alanna Porter kicked five goals to be one of the best for the Eagles along with Jacqueline McClurg.

For the Warriors, Angel Pokora and Bethany Holmes were named their best.

Meanwhile, Caroline Springs beat Werribee Centrals under lights at Galvin Park on Saturday.

The Lakers hit the lead in the first quarter and were able to extend that in the second quarter.

The margin stayed steady for the rest of the match, with the Lakers winning 10.6 (66)-6.9 (45).

Larissa Renaut and Paige Cook kicked two goals each for the Centrals.

Julia Nash continued her good form and was named their best.

In the other division 1 match, Manor Lakes had to forfeit their game to Spotswood.

In division 2, Wyndhamvale beat Point Cook, 7.5 (47)-0.0 (0).

Madeleine Young and Patricia Popplewell kicked two goals each for Wyndhamvale.

Mariah Burton was named their best.

In the other matches, West Footscray was too strong for Laverton, Point Cook Centrals won on forfeit against Braybrook-Albanvale and Caroline Springs beat North Sunshine.

In the men’s division 1, Hoppers Crossing got the points, while Werribee Districts and Point Cook both suffered losses.
