Wyndham suffered a second straight loss in the Big V men’s state championship division. It was a topsy turvy game against the Hume City Broncos with both teams going on big runs. In the end, a 31-22 final quarter sealed a 105-100 win for the Broncos. Maurice Howard and Manel Ayol scored 25 points apiece. Wyndham’s women’s side beat McKinnon by one point, 86-85.

Westbourne Grammarians were blown out in the second half against North Brunswick in their Victorian Amateur Football Association division 3 match up. The win less Grammarians trailed by just 10 points at half time, but could manage just two goals after half time in the 15.14 (104)-5.2 (32). Michael Szulc kicked two goals for the Grammarians, while Jackson Brook was named their best. The Grammarians remain on the bottom of the ladder.

The City West Falcons nutted out a hard fought win against the Hawks in the Victorian Netball League on Wednesday night. Having lost the first matchup between the sides, the Falcons were keen to get one back this time round as they started the second round of matchups. The Falcons would do enough in the last quarter to seal the 59-54 win. Falcons coach Marg Lind said it wasn’t the best performance they had ever put out on the court, but was happy to take the win.

Werribee Centrals pushed Bannockburn in the Geelong and District Football League but wasn’t able to come away with the points on Saturday. The Centrals, who have won just two games for the season, lost 13.11 (89)-10.4 (64). Centrals sit 10th on the ladder. In the netball, Centrals lost to Bannockburn 37-32. Centrals sit fourth on the ladder.
