Western Jets Lou-Lou Field was part of an under-23 all stars team that played against the AFL National Academy Girls side on Saturday. Made up of the top 18-year-old talent across the country, the academy girls squad showcases players eligible for the 2024 draft, while the Under-23 All Stars side is comprised of select talent playing in Victoria, the Northern Territory and Tasmania, as nominated by AFLW clubs.

The draw for the fifth round was released last week, with the Reds drawing FV state league 3 north-west side, the Western Eagles. If the Reds win, they will face the winner of the Uni Hill Eagles and Melbourne SRBIJA.

A tough period for Werribee City has continued in the Victorian Premier League 1 competition. The Bees faced Melbourne Victory on Friday night . Victory scored once in the first half, before the Bees were left short with three red cards. Victory was able to come away with a comfortable 4-1 win. The Bees sit in 13th spot after eight rounds with only one win.

Werribee Centrals started their Geelong and District Football League season on a winning note, beating Corio on Saturday. Corio led at quarter time by three points, with the margin reduced to two at the main break. The Centurions kicked four goals to three in the third quarter to take the lead, before straight kicking in the final quarter sealed a 15.9 (99)-13.5 (83) win. Joshua MacDonald kicked four goals in a best on ground performance while Matthew Miller was also among the best.
