Angie Beard has been ruled out for the A-League Women’s grand final. Beard was substituted in the 78th minute of United’s 1-0 win in Sunday’s Semi-Final against Sydney FC after hunting her foot. Scans have revealed that Beard has sustained an injury to her foot, which will unfortunately rule her out for the grand final on April 30.

An under strength City West Falcons still came away with the win in the Victorian Netball League championship on Friday night. The Falcons were missing two players from their usual squad, but it meant little with the Falcons beating the Boroondara Express, 76-56. The Falcons under-19s and division 1 sides both also had wins. The Falcons sit top after five rounds, one of three teams with four wins and a loss.

Werribee Centrals remains undefeated in the Geelong and District Netball League after a big win on Saturday. Facing Bell Post Hill, the Centurions had control throughout the game on the way to a 64-24 win. Ellie Tubbs scored 42 goals for the Centurions. The Centurions this week face the Belmont Lions.

Werribee Centrals snuck home in a thriller against Bell Post Hill in the Geelong and District Football League on Saturday. It was a low scoring affair, with the Centurions making the most of their opportunities in the 7.5 (47)-5.14 (44) win. Bryce Linehan-Cunningham kicked three goals for the winners. Harley Kilby, Jack Stephenson and Linehan-Cunningham were named the Centurions best. The Centurions now have two wins from their three matches. The Centurions this week face the Belmont Lions.
