The Werribee Giants returned to the winners list on Sunday in the Baseball Victoria summer league division 2 competition. After a 0-0 result against Preston on Wednesday night, the Giants came away with a 13-11 win against Bonbeach on Sunday. The Giants sit seventh after eight rounds. The Giants this week face the Cheltenham Rustlers. The Giants women’s side had a 16-9 win against Williamstown in the division 3 competition. The side sits fourth on the ladder.

Werribee was unable to come away with the points in the Cricket Victoria Women’s Community Cricket Competition shield 3 T20 competition on Sunday. Facing Coburg (2), Werribee made 7-81 from its overs. April Chaudhary top scored with 25. Coburg had little trouble getting the runs, finishing 2-82 off 16.3 overs. After eight rounds, Werribee sits fifth on the table.

Sanctuary Lakes fell short against Westmeadows in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association Geoff Law Shield. The Sharks made 0-122 from their 20 overs with Amandeep Bhalla top scoring with 19. The Warriors then made 6-138 in reply. Anika Mason took 3-24 for the Sharks. In division 3, Point Cook defeated Fleming Gulls/West Newport by forfeit, while Point Cook beat Bellbridge in division 4. Point Cook made 2-121 in reply to Bellbridge’s 3-120.

Tarneit Central Red won a low scoring affair in the Western Suburbs Churches and Community Cricket Association division 1. Tarneit Central made 92 before bowling West Point out for 86. Truganina was too strong for Tarneit Central Blue. Tarneit Central Blue made 8-156 which Truganina reached eight wickets down, finishing 8-160. Williams Landing got the victory against United Tarneit, while Brimbank Strikers were too good for the Western Leadbeaters.
