Cricket

Action in the Victorian Turf, Victorian Sub-District, North West Metropolitan and Victorian Premier cricket association men’s competitions were again called off. All four competitions had finally hoped to get play underway on Saturday, but heavy rain on Friday night and Saturday morning meant there was no choice to call off play. It’s the fourth straight week for the VTCA, Premier and VSDCA that play has been called off and the third straight week for the NWMCA. The Western Suburbs Churches and Community Cricket Association also called off play on Saturday.

NWMCA

Women’s cricket got underway in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association on Sunday. Many games didn’t go ahead due to heavy rain in the lead up to the matches. In division 4, Sanctuary Lakes 2 made 3-150 before restricting Point Cook 2 to 6-125. Sanctuary Lakes top side which is in the Geoff Law Shield this season didn’t get on the park.
