VFL: Werribee Tigers slip badly in pecking order

Werribee Tigers hit a low point in their Victorian Football League season with a 31-point loss to Collingwood.

The Tigers managed only 10 scoring shots for the game and played catch-up football from go to whoa.

But for the Magpies’ inaccuracy – eight of 18 scoring shots resulted in goals – it could have been a harsher scoreline for the Tigers.

The Tigers slid out of the top four and next face the Northern Blues at Visy Park on Saturday, starting at 1.30pm.

The only positive to come out of the weekend for the Tigers was a thrilling three-point victory for the development league team against the Box Hill Hawks.

Sam Martyn, Merrick Buchanan and Jake Sharp were named among the best for the Tigers, while Jason Robinson booted a crucial two goals.
