Werribee
has a tough road ahead if it is claim premiership glory in the
Victorian Football League this season, but coach Scott West believes
they are up for the task.
“My theory is any win is a good win, but I
said to the boys after the game you play all year to make finals and not
just make the numbers,” he said.
“You want to win, and we’ve ticked one
off. We move on pretty quick and focus on the next opponent.”

Casey has
an atrocious finals record, having lost its past nine.
Not since 2008
have the Scorpions won a final, and in the past three years they have
suffered straight-sets exits.
“They’re a top-four team, we didn’t finish
in the top four so they deserve to be favourites,” said West.
The coach
was particularly pleased with his charges after quarter-time against
the Bombers.
“We had to come out and take the game on, and we did. It
was really good footy. We took our chances.”
