GDFL: Werribee Centrals in finals nail-biter

WERRIBEE Centrals put their Geelong and District Football League Smiths Holden Cup finals spot at risk with a shock one-point loss to lowly Inverleigh away on Saturday.

The Centurions could have secured a top-five finish, but it will now come down to the last round, where they can shore up their position with a win over Corio at Galvin Park on Saturday.

If they don’t take care of their own business, the fourth-placed Centurions can still make the finals, but only if one of Geelong West or Winchelsea lose in round 18.
