GDNL: Centurions dispose of Hill challenge

IT was supposed to be the first real test for undefeated Werribee Centrals in the Geelong and District Netball League A grade.

But the Centurions, 15 wins and counting, dished up a 58-35 shellacking to Bell Post Hill in a top of the table clash that moved them to within a game of the minor premiership.

The Centurions defended stoutly with Brigitte Ardossi and Noni McClure up and in the faces of the Bell Post Hill goalers.

The Centurions also delivered an explosion of productivity on the front line, churning out 58 goals.

Eleanor Tubbs (27) and Mickayla Ward (21) combined for 48 goals, while Rebecca Lally added 10.

Danielle Stewart was outstanding in centre court.

The Centurions can sew up the top ranking in the finals by beating East Geelong at Galvin Park on Saturday.
