GDFL: Centurions face uphill finals bid

WERRIBEE Centrals were outclassed by Geelong and District Football League Smiths Holden Cup flag fancy Bell Post Hill at Myers Reserve on Saturday.

The Centurions gave a good account of themselves but did not win a quarter in a 44-point loss.

For the Centurions,  Brad McNicol, Phillip Jones and Michael Knight had solid outings, while Nathan Lovell bobbed up for three goals. For all the positives, the Centurions still finished behind and dropped to fourth.

They will square off with third-placed East Geelong at Galvin Park on Saturday, a critical ‘‘eight-point’’ game in the race for the double chance.
