TAC Cup: Tasmanian victory has Jets skydiving

THE Western Jets have tumbled out of the TAC Cup top eight.

The free-falling Jets have failed to yield a point since their victory over Oakleigh Chargers in round four was overruled and deemed a draw due to a scoring error.

Their errant kicking for goal was to blame in an 18-point loss to Tasmania at Highgate Recreation Reserve in Craigieburn on Saturday morning.

The Jets converted just eight of 23 scoring shots into goals as they trailed at every change.

Mitch Norton once again excelled in the forward-half with four goals.

Norton has now booted 19 goals in seven matches and will begin to raise the eyebrows of AFL recruiters.

Lachlan Hickey, James Robinson and Jake Greiser were also in the Jets’ best players.

The Jets have a week’s rest before their must-win encounter with Murray Bushrangers at the Norm Minns Oval on June 1.
