VAFA: Werribee Districts fizzle out

WERRIBEE Districts improved on its usual slow starts with a competitive first term at Soldiers Reserve, but fizzled out late in a 91-point defeat to Caulfield Grammarians in Premier B.

The Dean brothers, Matthew and Travis, and Adam Alifraco fought hard for the Tigers, while Ryan Harrington (three) and Chris Molivas (two) offered bite to the attack.

In division 3, Old Westbourne was within striking distance of Albert Park at three-quarter-time, but ran out of petrol to lose by 48 points at Beaurepaire Pavilion. Chris Sneddon booted two for the Warriors and was his side’s best player.

In division 4, Point Cook lost for the first time this season, by 13 points in a nailbiter away to West Brunswick at Ransford Oval.
