WDCA: Bungling Bellbridge

BELLBRIDGE was nothing if not consistent in the Williamstown and District Cricket Association B1 turf this summer.

A streaky form line had it s on a four-game win streak pre-Christmas and a four-game losing run into the new year.

Bellbridge was unbeaten in the opening two months of the season, but winless since the start of December.

To say the wheels fell off is an understatement.

It paid the price on the ladder, tumbling out of the finals picture, missing out by 12 points.

There would be a sour ending in the form of a narrow loss to finals- bound Williamstown Congs in the last game of the regular season on Saturday.

Set 160 for victory, Bellbridge was all out for 154.

There is sure to be a fair bit of head scratching at Mossfield Reserve in the off-season after such a dramatic downturn in form.

In the C composite grade, Tarneit Titans snatched the minor premiership after a 202-run belting of Seabrook in the last round at Arndell Park.

The Titans powered to 264, opener Rajkanwar Taneja leading the charge, smashing 123, which included 14 fours and four sixes.

Deepak Sharma proved a great ally with 57. Seabrook was dismissed for just 64.
