GCA: Sun’s sting holds no terrors for Redbacks

LITTLE River holds all the aces after a dominant opening day against Shelford in the Geelong Cricket Association division 3 firsts.

The Redbacks had the unenviable task of fielding under the blazing sun on Saturday, but came out relatively unscathed to have Shelford all out 148 in 55 overs.

Young Redbacks player-coach Nathan Kenyon had a day out with 6-40 off 18 overs.

Opening bowler Todd Smith continued his sizzling form with 3-33 off 17.

The Redbacks were 1-33 at stumps and Sam Reidy (seven) and Michael Ebborn (10) will resume their partnership when play resumes on Saturday.
