This is your first look at the soon-to-be-built Wyndham Tech School.

The state government last week unveiled the designs for the multi-million dollar facility, which is one of 10 tech schools currently being rolled out statewide.

Plans reveal the Wyndham Tech School will include design studios, and simulation and collaboration hubs fitted out with state-of-the-art technology to give secondary school students advanced education and training in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Construction of the tech school, which will be located at Victoria University’s Werribee campus, is expected to begin in coming months, with the school earmarked to open in mid-2018.

Once complete, students from 18 Wyndham “partner” schools – including Baden Powell P-9 College, Wyndham Central Secondary College and the Islamic College of Melbourne – will be able to access the facility.

The tech school will have an education focus aligned to local industries expected to have strong economic and employment growth, including health, transport and logistics, scientific and technical professional services, and construction.

Werribee MP Tim Pallas said the new tech school means local high school students won’t have to travel far for state-of-the-art learning facilities.

“The Wyndham Tech School will give local students access to a high-tech learning environment while linking them to local industry and future job opportunities,” Mr Pallas said.
