A series of road reconstructions have commenced across Wyndham, with more planned to begin in the new year.
Construction has commenced on full road reconstructions at Ashton Crescent
(between Voltaire Court to Alsace Avenue), Chigwell Court and Priorswood Drive in
Hoppers Crossing.
Work on nine more road reconstructions – seven in Hoppers Crossing and two in the
Werribee City Centre – will commence in the first half of 2024.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Jennie Barrera, said these works made our
suburban streets smoother, safer and more enjoyable for everyday use.
“Improving local roads is one of the key priorities of Wyndham City’s 2023/24 budget,
and this year’s investment includes $8.4 million to rebuild 12 roads throughout our
City,” Cr Barrera said.
“By rebuilding these roads, we’re reducing ongoing maintenance costs and
eliminating the need for band-aid solutions such as patching potholes.”
“Wyndham City is also investing $2.6 million to maintain and upgrade 33 local roads
over 2023/24 as part of its Road Surface Renewal Program.”
