Wyndham Park live site for Matilda’s semi

A live site at Wyndham Park will be set up for Wednesday night’s blockbuster FIFA Women’s World Cup semi-final between Australia and England.

The free live site will be open from 6pm on August 16, with the match shown live on a big screen from 8pm.

After the Matildas dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over France in the quarter finals, Wyndham mayor Susan McIntyre said the live site was the ideal place for people to gather and cheer them on to another famous win.

“This is going to be a huge match and what a special opportunity for the Wyndham community to be part of the excitement and share this moment together,” Cr McIntyre said.

“It’s going to be really exciting!”

Cr McIntyre encouraged attendees to come clad in green and gold, but also bring rugs or warm clothes for what is expected to be a cool evening.

Face-painting and giveaways will be offered at the family friendly event which is alcohol free. Patrons are urged to have dinner at nearby restaurants or bring take-away with them.
