Wyndham libraries to receive funding

Wyndham council will receive $1.5 million to invest in the municipalities libraries, the state government has announced.

The Public Libraries Funding Program provides annual funding for public libraries across Victoria so that they can provide necessary library services.

”Libraries play an important role in connecting local communities like ours in Wyndham to resources of information, literature and so much more,” Tarneit MP Sarah Connolly said.

“The Public Libraries Funding Program ensures that the Wyndham community continues to have access to these fantastic services.”

This funding will expand library collections, boost online services and provide library and outreach programs.

“It’s great to see the Government continuing to support Wyndham City Council to deliver high-quality resources for our community through the Public Libraries Funding Program,” Werribee MP Tim Pallas.

The Public Libraries Funding Program was allocated $48.1 million in funding by the state government for the 2022-2023 financial year.

“We’re supporting learning and education, and this funding will ensure that libraries can continue to provide acces- sible and engaging resources to communities across Victoria through the Public Library Funding Program,” Local government minister Melissa Horne said.
