Wyndham kindergartens to open doors at open days

Parents with children ready for kindergarten next year can attend two open days held by Wyndham council next month.

Families can visit any of Wyndham’s participating kindergartens between 5pm and 7pm on

Wednesday March 6 to help choose where to register their child for 2025.

A second open day will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday May 4.

All children who turn three or four years old by Tuesday April 30 2025 are eligible to attend a

kindergarten program next year.

Registrations for the first round of offers for 2025 open online from Friday March 1

and close on Friday May 31.

Wyndham councillor Jasmine Hill reassured families that the kindergarten enrolment process is inclusive, offering equal opportunities for all.

“Applications for places are open throughout the designated period, with each

received application considered equally in the first round of offers, regardless of

submission time,” Cr Hill said.

“Kindergarten is an important step in a child’s life – research shows that kindergarten

improves children’s health and wellbeing, helps them to develop strong social skills

and encourages a love of learning. The open days are an excellent opportunity for families to get the feel of the kindergartens they’re visiting, speak to the educators and get details about session times, programs and activities offered. For parents and carers, these open days help to make an informed choice when indicating your kindergarten preferences during the registration process.”
