Wyndham grant recipients announced

Wyndham council has announced it will provide more than $500,000 in community grants to 17 groups across the city.

The $579,000 of funding will allow not-for-profit organisations and community-based groups to deliver projects and events that align with the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision.

Up to $40,000 per project was available to incorporated groups and not-for-profit organisations under the large grants scheme delivered annually by Wyndham.

Mayor Mia Shaw said the grants would allow groups from all walks of life to succeed.

“We’ve allocated funding to groups that will deliver a mix of events, employment/educational opportunities, sport/recreation opportunities, community leadership, health and arts development projects,” she said.

“Through these grants we’re reaching a wide range of community members including young people, multicultural communities, those on low incomes, women’s groups, older residents and those living with long term health conditions and disability.”
