Experienced local government leader Kelly Grigsby will take the hot seat as Wyndham council’s newly appointed chief executive it was announced yesterday.
Ms Grigsby has been Wyndham’s community development director for nearly three years and was appointed acting chief executive following the departure of former chief executive Kerry Thompson in August.
Wyndham Mayor Peter Maynard said Ms Grigsby’s extensive local government experience and outstanding leadership skills will provide the city with a strong and committed leader.
“Following a rigorous selection process we are pleased to announce that Kelly Grigsby has been appointed to the role of chief executive officer,” Cr Maynard said.
“In her time at Wyndham, Kelly has developed strong links with the community and has demonstrated a real determination to see the Council delivering on community expectations.
“As one of the fastest growing cities in Australia, Wyndham is facing enormous challenges and councillors are confident in Kelly’s ability to lead the city during this time.”
Ms Grigsby started her career in local government and has held a range of different senior positions at Moorabool, Glenelg and Colac Otway Councils.
She also spent a year working as an organisational management advisor in the Solomon Islands and joined Wyndham after a period as interim chief executive at Brimbank City Council.
Her portfolio has ranged from planning and development to engineering and asset maintenance.
“During her time at Wyndham, Kelly has led a number of strategic projects for the City which have focused on improving our approach to planning for the future and promoting increased community consultation,” Cr Maynard said.
“We look forward to working with Kelly and congratulate her on her appointment to what is one of the biggest jobs in local government.”
