Wyndham businesses awarded

The Encore Events Centre in Hoppers Crossing was filled the sound of joyful laughter, excited mingling and happy tears at the first in-person Wyndham Business Awards since the pandemic shutdowns.

About 300 people converged on September 2 for the annual event celebrating Wyndham entrepreneurs, innovators and business owners.

Wyndham council mayor Peter Maynard said the municipality has “a very strong and passionate business community“ that continues to grow.

“Wyndham is home to more than 24,000 GST registered business of vary sizes and diversity, from home-based sole operations to large multinationals and everything in between,“ councillor Maynard said.

“The success of Wyndham Business Awards has been underpinned by the passion…of our business community and the desire to make our city a great place to live, work and play and visit.“

Awards were presented across numerous categories, including arts and recreation, accommodation and hospitality, manufacture, new and emerging and business person of the year.

LT’s Egg Farm took home the Mayoral Award, for their work providing families with eggs Australia wide, and the expansion of their business to include an onsite deli and cafe.

Business of the year was won by Cake Creations by Kate, an “incredible asset“ to the municipality and a business with the “local community at the forefront of its thinking“.
