WynActive scoops pool at awards

WynActive has won four gongs at the Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) awards.

The organisation, which manages Wyndham council’s three major recreation facilities, also received its fifth consecutive Watch Around Water award for the water safety initiatives implemented at AquaPulse in Hoppers Crossing.

WynActive chief executive, Alison Dixon, said: “I could not be any prouder of the resilience and dedication demonstrated by staff, management and the entire WynActive organisation over a hugely challenging year.”

Three WynActive team members were individually recognised at the ARV awards.

Pool Lifeguard of the Year was taken out by Marcus Colla.

Rhiannon Galea received the Customer Service award and her colleague Alexia Barlow won the Duty Manager award.

“It was an honour to be nominated, and an even greater surprise to be awarded the Duty Manager award at the ARV gala evening,” Ms Barlow said.

“When my name was announced, it took a moment to register before I realised I had won the award.

“It means so much to be recognised by my peers and industry leaders as a problem solver and role model, and I am proud to have received the award.”

WynActive’s aquatic facilities general manager, Barry Harrison, said that the ARV awards acknowledged the effort and commitment demonstrated by the entire WynActive staff team.
