Woodville Park feedback

Wyndham council is calling for feedback on its plans to improve Woodville Park in Hoppers Crossing by upgrading it to a larger-scale public recreational space to support a wider range of activities.

The upgrade will include new play equipment with an emphasis on accessibility including council’s first ‘We-Go swing’, an unfenced wheelchair accessible swing.

Part of the feedback process will be a drop in session held at the park between 10am-1pm on Saturday, June 14.

Councillor Jennie Barrera said the upgrades were designed to attract more foot traffic from neighbouring suburbs.

“The upgrade is expected to attract more park goers from across the surrounding suburbs, which in turn is expected to build an increased sense of community and strengthen local businesses,” she said.

“It would be great to see visitors shop locally, boosting business.”

She also said the changes are consistent with the Woodville Place Plan that was recently developed.

“The vision for Woodville, which was developed with extensive consultation, aims to cherish connections ‘between people, place and nature, and connections between past, present and future.”

“These connections aim to foster a friendly community spirit, create a vibrant activity centre, promote a healthy lifestyle, and ensure a safe, green environment.”
