Woman assaulted in Werribee

Police are hoping to speak to witnesses who assisted a woman after she was assaulted in Werribee last Saturday (December 8).

Police have been told the 44-year-old woman was walking north along Market Road, when she was approached by a man around 9.10am.

Police allege the man touched the woman inappropriately.

Police are speaking to a 60-year-old Werribee man, who is assisting them with their enquiries.

Investigators are hoping to speak to a woman and four men, aged in their 20s, who stopped to assist the victim.

Police are also keen to speak to any witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the incident.
