Woman arrested after Tarneit evade

Police arrested a woman following an alleged evade in Tarneit on Saturday.

Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically, before it allegedly evaded police on Leakes Road about 2.15pm on January 20.

At about 4.40pm police spotted the vehicle again at traffic lights near the intersection of Hogans and Tarneit roads.

After deploying stop sticks to bring the vehicle to a halt, police arrested the female driver at the scene.

A subsequent search of her vehicle allegedly located drugs.

The 27-year-old Wangaratta woman was charged with possessing a drug of dependence, unlicensed driving, drug driving offences, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an unroadworthy vehicle, failing to affix plates, contravening bail conditions, committing an indictable offence whilst on bail and failing to stop a vehicle upon police direction.
