William Landing house fire

Twenty-two firefighters attended a blaze at a Williams Landing house last night.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews attended the Lapwing Close residence just after 11.35pm, after receiving multiple calls to triple-0 about flames issuing from the property.

An FRV spokesman said the single-storey, brick veneer home, was “well alight” when firefighters arrived.

There were no occupants at the house at the time of the fire.

The fire caused minor damage to a neighbouring property, including a fence and a garage wall.

The fire was deemed under control within 30 minutes.

FRV crews remained at the scene overnight to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

Specialist fire investigators attended the scene to assist in determining the cause.
