The king of rock and roll lives on in the hearts of residents at Mercy Place Wyndham.
They celebrated Elvis Presley recently by hosting a variety of events including a karaoke session, movie screenings and a trivia night.
Festivities concluded with an Elvis Fest featuring an impersonator of “the king”.
Service manager Siphilisiwe Dlamini said the week was in honour of the anniversary of the iconic musician’s death on August 16, 1977. Mercy Place marks the anniversary with
events every year.
“Elvis Week has become one of our favourite traditions at Mercy Place Wyndham,”
Ms Dlamini said. “It’s a great way for residents to connect through music and so much fun for everyone here.
“Elvis is a favourite among residents at the home, with many growing up owning every record he ever produced.”
