West Tarneit works

Major works will begin on West Tarneit Station from Saturday 10 January, as part of a “14-day construction blitz” across the western suburbs.

Crews will work around the clock to build the new station, completing drilling under the rail line and constructing the platforms and station canopies.

Slated to open to passengers on the Geelong line later this year, West Tarneit will include two platforms, an accessible underpass, a four-bay bus interchange and a 400-space car park.

Tarneit MP Dylan Wight said the new station will ease the pressure on Tarneit Station and provide more transport options for locals in the west.

Due to the works, there will be disruptions to V/Line services on the Geelong line between 10-23 January.
