Armed Crime Squad detectives have arrested a Werribee man following an alleged kidnapping in North Melbourne earlier this year.
Police were called following reports a North Melbourne man had been kidnapped and assaulted on July 14.
The 26-year-old man was released later that evening with minor injuries.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a Werribee address at the weekend and arrested an 18-year-old Werribee man.
He has been charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, extortion with threat to inflict serious injury, intentionally cause injury and theft of a motor vehicle.
