Werribee South grower goes prime time

Werribee South vegetable grower John Said will leap from farm time to prime time tonight when he appears in a special segment of My Kitchen Rules.

Mr Said, who owns Werribee South business Fresh Select, will appear in the top rating cooking show for a product segment with contestants in a Coles store, where is a key supplier of fresh vegetables. Fresh Select grows more than 16 different vegetables and employs about 200 people.

Mr Said said it was a privilege to showcase his produce on national television.

“It was a fantastic experience meeting the contestants and highlighting the providence of our fresh produce.

“Featuring on My Kitchen Rules was a great opportunity to educate the contestants and the broader community on product seasonality, the importance of freshness and the processes behind growing, harvesting and supplying … incredible fresh produce.”
