A Werribee man has been charged with more than 70 offences relating to defrauding elderly people.
The man, 33, along with a 30-year-old Corio man, where charged by police with 71 offences, including obtaining property by deception, theft and obtaining financial advantage by deception.
Police will allege the pair stole approximately $250,000 from seven elderly victims located in Victoria and Western Australia between June 2024 and February 2025.
It is understood the pair made contact with the victims and remotely gained access to their bank accounts.
Officers executed four search warrants at addresses in Corio, Werribee and Geelong West between February and June.
The pair were bailed to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on October 21.
