A free Bollywood dinner and dance party will be held at the Manor Lakes Community Learning Centre next week.
Manor Lakes resident Neha Nagi is organising the event, which will feature a DJ, face-painting, children’s activities and a Bollywood quiz.
Mrs Nagi, who has previously organised a Bollywood karaoke party and a cultural Lohri event, said she was trying to fill a gap in Indian and Bollywood events in Wyndham.
“I’ve been volunteering in the community for a while now, it’s something I really enjoy. It is lots of fun and you meet lots of people,” she said.
Mrs Nagi said the Bollywood dinner and dance party would feature dance groups and a performance of a bhangra dance by members of Club 60, a group for Indian parents whose children are settled in Tarneit.
Small businesses such as Punbajan Boutique, a real estate agency and friend Jaspreet Kaur have provided vouchers as prizes.
“I am looking forward to a fun night and I’d love to see participation from anyone and everyone,” Mrs Nagi said.
“Anyone can come, all ethnicities are welcome.”
The Bollywood dinner will be held on Friday, July 27 from 6.30-10pm, at the Manor Lakes centre, 86 Manor Lakes Boulevard. Attendees are invited to bring their favourite curry to share.
