Star Weekly crew set for relay

The Star Weekly team members have their purple guernseys pressed and their runners ready to be laced up tight as they prepare for the 2016 Wyndham Relay for Life.

Star Weekly general manager Colin Moss is looking forward to joining staff from the Wyndham editorial and advertising departments at the track on April 16 and 17 for the overnight event.

Star Weekly are proud supporters of the Relay for Life and encourage everyone to either sponsor someone who is participating or to take part themselves,” he said.

“We have our own staff taking part, looking to raise funds for this worthy cause.”

Mr Moss said any Wyndham businesses that donated more than $100 to

Star Weekly’s team would be acknowledged in the newspaper’s honour board, to be published in the newspaper the following week.

Wyndham Relay for Life chairman Brendan Andrew said more than $2 million had been raised over 15 years by the local version of the event.

“We’re all about developing it into a real community event with community and family groups, and schools,” he said.

All funds raised will help Cancer Council research, prevention and support services.
