Werribee RSL president Daryl Ryan said members and volunteers had been busy selling poppies in the lead-up to Remembrance Day, with proceeds going towards current and former service men and women in need.
Mr Ryan said it was important to commemorate those who lost their lives during World War I, including the 60 men from Werribee whose names were on the cenotaph.
